For the first Listening Lounge of the year we’ve got something really special. something we’ve never done before in these last three years. first and foremost, ultimately, Listening Lounge is about good music. period. and for the first Listening Lounge of the year we thought we’d give it to our homies to showcase the immense amount of musical talent the Bay has to offer on the X-chromosome side of thangs. so to jump start 2010, we’re inviting you to “LADIES FIRST”

trust us, you aint never seen anything like RRS. on stage with a 3 x 4 setup (thats 3 mixers and 4 turntables yall!! holla!!) they combine classic turntablist techniques with funk, uptempo, disco, boogie, and hiphop (of course) to create a completely new and unique style. trust when we say: you. can. not. miss. this.

these two have been innovating their way through the Bay’s Hip-Hop scene for quite sometime. its almost like’ “finally!” when we got the opportunity to get them on Listening Lounge. the first ever female DJ team to compete in the DMC in its entire 20 year lifespan. they have done much to keep the wheels of the Bay’s turntablist heritage moving and growing including their party Skratchpad which was an “open mic” for DJs to flex their chops and just build with each other. they created a true hub for the community. plus: they will be performing their 2 x 4 set at Listening Lounge.

Brooklyn Circus SF 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY celebration..
UPDATE: cedication.crimes will also be spinning on the Jazz Festival main stage @ 1:30pm!!
…just happens to coincide with the Fillmore Jazz Festival, SF’s largest street festival with 90,000 atendees every year. And they’ve invited the Reignforest Familia to come and partake of the celebration! In a matter of a year, Brooklyn Circus has established itself as one of the premiere spots in SF for quality threads, and we’re happy to say we’ve rolled together since day one (dont forget the pop-up shop on top of harputs!). its a two-day, all-day, celebration going down THIS weekend, July 4th & 5th, and i’ll be spinning both days: 11 o’clock on Saturday the 4TH, and 1 PM on Sunday the 5TH (amongst a much more talented DJ line-up). if we’re invited, YOU’RE invited–so rollo! maybe we can watch the fireworks after.

the Brooklyn Circus SF is having an event this Saturday @ their boutique on Filmo’ to celebrate the release of their new Spring Collection. And ya boys (XARIUSOUND, cedication.crimes, & Ronostalgia) along with SHRED ONE will be spinnin’ all day!
come through, have a drink, eat some popcorn, listen to some good sunny day music, but most of all check this really tasty collection! I got a soft spot for nautical fashion themes (must be that ’97 tommy hilfiger in me), and BKc does it right for Spring ’09!
